Taste of Nashville is an annual event held during Autumn at a variety of venues that help showcase local restaurateurs and musicians. “Taste” has quickly become one of Nashville’s premier parties attended by countless community Who’s Who. This event showcases great live music and a minimum of 30 of Nashville’s most respected eateries. Local media publications have labeled “Taste” as “Nashville’s Steeplechase of the fall”.
Each and every year the many very talented artists of Nashville join together with the Phoenix Club to offer a wonderful selection of Holiday Cards. Through our Holiday Greeting Card drive, we join together with local companies, and individuals alike to spread holiday cheer as well as raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs.
Snacks for Snacks is our exclusive summer cocktail party benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee's after-school and summer meals program. Entering its third year, "Snacks" has been a consistent sell-out event, attended by Nashville’s young professionals and emerging leaders.
In April 2013, PCON hosted our 1st Annual Men's Leadership & Philanthropy Dinner featuring former Phoenician and Tennessee Governor Winfield Dunn and current Governor Bill Haslam. The event was held at Tennessee Bank and Trust and attended by 100 former and current PCON members as well as notable business leaders and emerging professionals in the Nashville area.
Through attending our events, you are making a difference, as all proceeds benefit disadvantaged youth and ultimately have a positive impact on the direction of our community. We appreciate you as a guest and value your feedback as to how we can make future events successful. Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT or the Club) is a youth development organization that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the youth of our community. The Club provides a safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals; life-enhancing programs and character development experiences; and hope and opportunity. We are a catalyst in raising funds for Nashville youth and youth programs with a specific focus on supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee. In 2013, PCON surpassed $1 million in giving since its inception. Further, our members represent our organization through multiple seats on the BGCMT Board of Directors and work closely with the executive staff in order to support the mission and vision of the Club.
Each summer, we proudly sponsor the Send a Kid to Camp Program, whereby we provide funding for as many as 50 children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee to attend Camp Widjiwagan at the Joe C. Davis YMCA Outdoor Center. Further, several of our members serve as volunteer counselors for a day. This partnership is an opportunity for our organization’s outreach and influence to extend beyond funding and is one of our more coveted initiatives.
Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics, and free enterprise through programs spanning grades K-12.
Better Health 4Kids fosters access to preventive healthcare and advances evidence-based prevention and education for the optimal health of children and their families. Through our annual Send-a-Kid to Summer Camp Program, PCON sponsors 50 children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (“BGCMT”) and Better Health 4 Kids (BH4K), to attend Camp Widjiwagan at the Joe C. Davis YMCA Outdoor Center.
W.O. Smith Music School (W.O. Smith or the Music School) makes affordable, quality music instruction available to children from low-income families. In 2012, PCON partnered with W.O. Smith in hosting the inaugural Fire Ball celebrating New Year’s Eve to benefit both the Music School and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee. This black tie event was an instant success, selling out weeks in advance.
The Entrepreneuer Center (EC) is a non-profit organization focused on developing startup and innovation talent in Nashville by connecting entrepreneurs with the resources they need to successfully launch their companies. In partnership with the Entrepreneur Center, PCON membership has participated in multi-session educational programs provided by the EC’s Michael Burcham, including Thinking like a CEO. These programs have served as a phenomenal opportunity for PCON members to network with other emerging leaders and further develop the skills to be successful leaders in business and community engagement.
In 2013, PCON partnered with the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (YLD) to host the Race Judicata, a 5K / 10K race held at Nashville’s Percy Warner Park. This event was a great success and represented the kick-off to the running season and the first of several races held in the area benefitting local charities.
Nashville Lifestyles’ annual 'Single in the City' issue highlights the area's most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes. The magazine perennially hosts a fundraising event around the launch of the issue and all benefits go to a local charity. In 2013, PCON was a proud partner and beneficiary of this event.
The Standard is the “home base” of the Phoenix Club and lets PCON host its monthly luncheons and networking events at its location. Many thanks to Josh Smith and the Standard for their continued support of the Phoenix Club of Nashville.
